So which of the four Try SCUBA dives that we offer is right for you?  (The good news is you can do more than one if you love it!)

1, If you are doing a whale shark or humpback whale tour with us and pressed for time, you can do a Try SCUBA dive during the afternoon of your tour on the coral bombies of the Ningaloo Reef's inner lagoon, (conditions permitting.)  (This is the cheapest and quickest way to do a Try Dive.)

2. If you want to do a Try SCUBA dive in a swimming pool as a first step, or want to fit your Try Dive in the late afternoon after you get back into town during your visit so you can fit more in your da, then the Town Pool is a great option!
The Pool is right in the middle of town, and available for use in the early mornings and late afternoons, meaning we can do these courses before or after you get back to town from your day out on the Ningaloo.  Whilst the scenery isn't quite as spectacular as the other sites;-), your Skills Review and Refresher Dive can be done quickly and easily which lets you get on with the rest of your holiday whilst fitting this in!

(Soon we will be offering...)

3. If you love the idea of doing a boat dive as your first dive, on the Ningaloo Reef, then Lighthouse Bay Try Dives are for you.  These are the dives that maximise the chance you are going to see something massive (but entirely safe!) whilst underwater - manta rays, turtles, dolphins and even the occasional whale shark or humpback whale swimming by!  The site is located on the Northern tip of the Ningaloo Reef in a protected bay an easy half an hour boat ride away from where we leave the shore. Divers can expect to see a spectacular range of corals and fishlife during their dive.  The site is suitable for all dive levels, from absolute beginner to advanced.

4. The Try Dive we usually book our family and friends onto?  Try Dive the Exmouth Navy Pier, one of the top 10 shore dives in the world.  The density and diversity of sealife under the Pier is truly stunning and needs to be seen to be believed!  The Pier is a fully operational military facility located in the protected waters of Exmouth Gulf, Western Australia.  Visibility, easy access to the site and the wide range of marine life all make this an ideal dive site for both novice and experienced divers. To be able to do the Navy Pier dive you need to be able to:

- after gearing up, walk down a 6 metre flight of stairs from the top of the Pier to the dive platform

- do a giant stride entry to the water from the dive platform, which can be up to 3m above the surface. Whilst it looks scary, it really isn't - just follow our dive team's instructions and its a surprisingly easy way to start your dive.

- exit the water by climbing a dive ladder from the surface back up to the dive platform whilst wearing your dive gear!  (Whilst it can be tiring, divers have been doing it for the last 30 years with few issues ever arising!)

You need to confirm you are fit enough to do this when you sign your dive waiver to do the dive.  (If you have any concerns, or any physical or medical conditions that you would like to talk to us, please ring to talk through when making your booking.)

Given its a military facility we are diving, Defence contractors maintain security for the site 24/7.  Understandably, Defence requires us to cover the costs of their Security Contractors verifying everyone's identity before our tour can enter the site.  This requires each guest to

1) PAY AN ADDITIONAL $50 PER PERSON TO DEFENCE TO DIVE THE SITE
2) PRESENT EITHER YOUR AUSTRALIAN PHOTOGRAPHIC DRIVERS LICENSE, OR YOUR PASSPORT BEFORE BOARDING OUR TOUR BUS AT THE START OF YOUR TOUR.  Originals only, no photocopies are acceptable.  If you don't have this ID on you at the start of your tour, you will not be able to go on tour and no refund will be paid to you.

If you have any questions whatsoever about experiencing SCUBA diving for yourself, or as a gift for someone dear, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
