Ningaloo Reef Whale Shark & Whale Ecotour

From AUD AU$370.00
  • Duration: 10 Hours (approx.)
  • Location: Exmouth, WA
  • Product code: PW7U9B

Our End of Season Ecotour is the smartest choice for exploring the big blue of the Ningaloo Reef - and for the chance to swim with a whale shark or whale if you want to too!

This tour runs exactly the same as our award-winning whale shark tours from the start to the end of your day out!  The only difference is you pay far less to book your seat ($370 not up to $550 in 2024), and during your tour you can choose to pay $50 extra to upgrade to become a Whale Shark and Whale Swimmer if you want to.

(You get this $50 back if you don't then get to swim with a whale shark or whale.)

What's included in your Ecotour?

This is exactly the same tour as our Whale Shark and Humpback Whale tours that we run from March each year.  Cruise out into the waters of the World Heritage listed Ningaloo Reef to find whale sharks, humpback whales and manta rays to swim with.

Add:

- two snorkels on the Reef surrounded by amazing sealife both BIG and small
- fascinating briefings
- our caring, fun and professional crew
- all the dive gear
- free pickup and dropoff from your accommodation
- and full catering throughout your tour

and you have a truly amazing day out!

Swim loooooooonnnnggger with any whale shark we encounter than guests on other tours too (on average).  Having our own spotter plane means our tour boat doesn't have to share a whale shark  with other the tour boats - something that the tours that share a plane have to do most swims.  This means that over the last decade, our guests have swum longer with a whale shark than guests on any other Ningaloo whale shark tour.

Dive the Reef too!

If the opportunity arises, we are the only tour that offers our guests the opportunity to SCUBA dive during your tour.

If you are NOT a SCUBA diver but have always wanted to try it, for just $195 extra (you can pay on the day, or when you book your tour) you can explore life under the ways and Try SCUBA diving on the World Heritage Listed Ningaloo Reef - with your dive instructor right next to you from start to finish.

OR if you have done a dive course but haven't dived in the last 12 months or have done 20 logged dives so far, you can do a Refresher with your own Dive Instructor and then be ready once again to head off on dive trips around the world!

If there are spaces available, Certified SCUBA divers can also do a fun dive (4-7m depth) on the amazing coral bombies of the inner Reef - all gear included!

Are you going to get to swim with a whale shark or whale during your tour?

The good news is that the latest research has confirmed that a significant minority of whalesharks (20-30%) stay around the Ningaloo region 12 months a year.  And there appears to be a permanent whale shark population on the Ningaloo Reef.  Many of the whale sharks leave the Reef sometime between August and November - pleasingly, we were swimming with whale sharks well into November for the last three years!   At this same time, the pelagic manta rays of the Ningaloo Reef come and visit.  And around 40,000 humpback whales are in the midst of their annual migration up to the Kimberleys from Antartica too, offering the opportunity of truly awe-inspiring swims during your tour too!
